Most days in our classroom will follow the schedule below:
5 minutes Silently complete and grade the starter
10 minutes Correct the previous day's homework¹
20 minutes Discussion and Lesson²
10 minutes Students can begin the work on the homework for the day¹
¹ I anticipate the daily homework load from my class to be approximately 30 minutes. If homework not moving along, if there are too many struggles with the work, or if the student 'just doesn't get it'; please put the homework away and see me before school the next day. I can allow more time to complete the assignment, but I will need to know if there are problems.
² Much of the work in our class from our textbooks and we will work on an interactive Smartboard®. The textbooks can be accessed electronically from this site. If you would like the tools available on our Smartboard®, follow the link and download the program to use on your home computer. Smartboard®, might ask for your serial number, but they will allow you to use the number from the board in my room as am extension of the services they offer.
